The Badger

Yea, that's right.... It's a badger.... But wait until you hear the story behind it... :)
Hubby, J and "Mr. Doug" went "hunting" for deer and/or elk. J was very pleased because it was his first real hunting trip. He dressed himself, and packed his little backpack with water and a plastic pirate knife. :)

Halfway to their destination (middle of nowhere), J announces he needs to pee. So Daddy pulled over and J jumped out to pee in the dirt on the side of the road. Just a minute later, Daddy yells, "Look! There's a badger!" J yanked his little pants up and flew back to the truck, hopped inside the backseat, and slammed the door. His little face was pressed against the window in amazement. Suddenly, Mr. Doug unrolled and leaned out the window with a pistol.... Bang! Bye, bye badger! J's mouth was hanging open. No words would come... He was amazed. So this is how it happens... Then the words came... "Is it a male or a female?!?!"

Neither of the men really wanted to check, but J insisted they find out. He also wanted to bring it home to show Mommy his trophy badger, but Daddy, bless his heart, told J that Mommy wouldn't appreciate a badger carcass as much as they did. They finally settled on skinning it and just bringing home the fur and leaving the "guts." In doing this, J found out that the badger had a "weiner" and was, therefore, a male. His burning question had been answered...

J also decided it was appropriate to "name" the badger. He settled on "Fiercy" because he said badgers were fierce. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Oh he's such a happy little hunter. You know, anyone can shoot a deer or elk. But how many people do YOU know, who get a badger?? I rest my case.....my grandson is brilliant!!!

Oh my word!!! My kids would have been traumatized for life. Infact, I think I am slightly traumatized. Good for Jacob for being such a "fierce" hunter.
